치앙라이 여행기 - 가는 길 Chiang Rai Travel Diary - How to get there

치앙라이는 태국 북부에 있는 도시로써 유명한 치앙마이에서 2-3시간 더 북쪽으로 가면 나오는 도시이다...
Chiang Rai is 2-3 hour drive from infamous Chiang Mai, towards north of Thailand...

치앙마이는 북쪽의 장미라고도 불린다...
Chiang Mai is also known as the rose of the north...

작년에 다녀왔는데 이제야 시간이 나서 포스트를 한다~
in truth, i went there last October, but i only find time now to post...

떠나는 날이 방콕에 홍수 들어오기 일주일 전... 그것도 돈무앙 공항이 완전히 잠기기 4-5일 전이였다... 훗... 일정이 약간만 늦어졌어도 돌아오지 못할뻔 했다..
the day we left is a week before the flood hit bangkok... and it was 4-5 days before Don Muang airport is submerged... lol... if my schedule was delayed... i may not have returned...

일단 제일 먼저 가는 길...
first of all, how to get there...

버스 터미널에서 버스를 타고 가도 되지만... 10시간에서 12시간이라는 장기간이 소모되고 피곤하기 때문에 저가 항공을 사용했다... 방콕에서 왕복하면 약 3000바트 정도?
you may take a bus from a bus terminal, but it takes 10-12 extremely long hours and very exhausting... so we used cheap budget air... roughly 3,000 baht for round trip.

암튼... 기분 좋은 맘으로 공항으로 갔는데... 이건 뭔일? 비행기가 고장났다고 대기하란다... 휴
anyways, when we got to the airport, WTF? the plane broke down... so we were delayed...

그래서 공항에서 다음 비행기 올때까지 2시간 정도 기다렸다...
so we waited at the airport for 2 hours until the next plane arrived...

역시 저가 항공은 티켓까지 다르죠? 그냥 영수증 같은 종이에다가 인쇄해준 비행기표...
budget air is clearly different... the ticket is printed on a receipt looking paper...

내가 탄 비행기는 아니고 태국의 저가 항공 녹에어... 데코를 새처럼 했다... ㅋㅋ
not my plane, but Nok Air... decorated as a bird... lol

이게 내가 탄 비행기... 첨에 짐까지 다 싣고 나고 비행기 점검하더니 고장났다고 한다... 그리고는 짐을 다시 내린다... 훗...
this is my plane... at first, they loaded precious cargo and checked the plane... and the plane was broken... so they unloaded... FML

한창 홍수 기간이라 먹구름이 장난이 아니다... 여기도 일주일만 있으면 물에 잠기는데... 난 무사했다...
because it was peak flooding time, the dark clouds were forming over the airport...

비행기 늦어졌다고 항공사에서 버거킹 소고기 치즈 버거를 나눠주었다~! 저가 항공에서 왠일로 좋은 서비스를 해주나하고 햄버거를 열어봤더니만... ㅎㄷㄷ
the airline gave us a Burger King Beef Cheese burger~! i was wondering what a great service by budget airline...

그럼 그렇지... 포장만 치즈 버거라고 하고 속에 야채조차 않들어 있다... ㅠㅠ 낚인것임? 그래도 배가 고파서 맛있게 먹었다...
and of course... only the wrapper stated cheese burger... the burger didn't even have veges... sigh... phished... but we still enjoyed it...

2-3시간 기다리는 동안에 공항 바닥에 앉아 충전하며 드라마 한편...
while waiting for the plane for 2-3 hours, we sat on the floor and watch a drama series...

나의 간편한 짐... 2박 3일 가는 거라 많이 필요하지도 않다...
my simple baggage... pack light for any journey~!

공항 터미널 의자에 누워서 한장... 완전 터미널 영화 장면이다...
looks like a scene from Terminal... lying down on the chairs...

화장실에서도 한장... 심심했지... 암... ㅋㅋ 저 자켓은 그냥 바람막이용... 방콕도 싸늘한데 치앙라이는 추울지 알고 가져갔다...
one shot at the bathroom... i was bored... lol... the jacket is just a windbreaker... at the time, bangkok was cool so i thought Chiang Rai will be colder...

결국 비행기는 출발하고... 아름다운 구름과 경계선이 보여 한장...
finally, we departed... what a view of the clouds and horizon...

치앙라이에 도착하고 공항 나가는 곳에 위치한 지도...
map placed on the exit of the airport...

호텔에서 픽업 나와서 치앙센까지 1시간 정도 이동...
hotel picked us up and drove us to Chiang Saen for about 1 hour...
