빚쟁이의 삶... life of a creditor...

신용카드를 만들고 싶어서 시티 은행에 갔더니... 외국인이라 월급이 부족하다고 한다... 서러웠다... 시티 은행을 볼때마다 불끈한다...
when i went to citi bank to make a credit card, i didnt earn enough as a foreigner... it was sad... every time i see a citi bank, somethings stirs from within...

그 전에는 미국에서 학자금대출 받아 대학을 다닐려고 했지만... 미국인 보증인이 없어서 못했다...
before that, i tried to go enter an American college with a student loan... but i couldn't obtain an American signature...

당시에는 허무했지만... 지금 생각해 보면 다행이라고 생각한다...
at the time, i was sad... but come to think of it, it was a relief...

한국에서도 미국에서도 대학생은 빚쟁이다... 사회에 나가 생활하기도 전에 빚쟁이가 되는 것이다...
korea, america, where ever you are from, college students are creditors; they are knee deep in debt... 

완전 자본주의 덧에 빠져든 것이다...
we are entrapped by capitalism...

대학을 위한 학자금 대출... 대학생에게 무분별하게 만들어 주는 신용카드... 말이 낮은 이자라고 하지 이자만 갚는 것도 버겁다... 그러므로 졸업후에는 빚을 갚기 위해 일을 해야한다... 좋던 싫던 일을 해야한다...
student loan for college... credit cards given to college students without a second opinion... though they say its low interest, paying off interest itself is difficult... so after you graduate, you gotta work... whether you like it or not...

일을 하는 이유가 빚을 갚기 위함으로 혹독하게 일을 시키고 매일 매일 야근을 하고 근무 조건이 않좋아도 어쩔수 없이 하게 된다...
if you are working to pay off your debts, you will continue to work even if working conditions are terrible...

그 수입이라도 없으면 신용불량자가 되기 때문에... 그건 좋은일이 아니다...
because if you dont have that income, you will have bad credit on your record... and you definitely don't want that...

자신이 즐기면서 좋아하는 일을 해야하는데 빚 때문에 어쩔수 없이 빚의 종이 되어 살아가게 된것이다...
you gotta enjoy your work... but if you are working to pay off your debts, you've become a slave to the debt...

카드 발급 사기에 대해서는 언급도 하기 싫다... 이익을 위해 모든 수단을 가리지 않는 신용카드 사... 사채... 대출... 그들을 왜 "죽은 돈"이라고 부르는지 알것 같다... 
credit card company frauds? i don't even want to go there... those companies, loan firms, that do anything to gain profit... no wonder they call it "dead money"...

그냥 알바하는 대학생들에게 카드를 발급하고는 아무 연락없다가 연채되기 시작하면 무섭게 따라오는 그들... 처음에 무료로 마약주고 중독되면 비싸게 팔아먹는 마약 밀매자들과 다른점이 있을까?
they give credit cards and loans to college students have have no stable jobs... and when they start to not pay, keep bothering them until you do... is it not same as drug dealers who give drugs for free in the beginning, and charge at incredible amounts once you are addicted?
