'돈이면 다'인 세상 - 서비스까지 돈으로... 'money talks' - paying for service

뭐 특별히 한국이라고도 안하겠다... 한국뿐만이 아니라 세계 어느곳을 가더라도 마찮가지이기 때문에...
i won't say its only Koreans; such is the case all over the world...

바로 '돈이면 다'라는 계념이다...
its 'money talks'...

이 계념은 어디서 시작했을까? 당연히 자본주의 사상에서 나왔다...
where did this saying come from? i firmly believe its from capitalism...

자본이 있는 사람은 그 자본을 가지고 투자도 하고 모험도 하면서 자본을 불려나간다... 그러나 그런 자본이 없는 사람들은 일만하면서 제자리 걸음을 평생토록한다...
rich will invest and/or take ventures to increase their wealth... while poor continues to work his ass off til the end...

그리고 요새 계속 눈에 거슬리는 행동... 특히 한국인들이 많이 하는데... 그건 바로 서비스 관련 일이다...
and something caught my eye recently... especially Koreans... something related to 'service'...

손님으로써 돈을 지불했으니 서비스는 당연히 받아야 한다는 생각... 한편으로는 당연한 것 같지만 한번 깊이 생각해 봐야 겠다...
people think, as a paying customer, service is deserved... in a way, that's for certain but we gotta think about it...

그럼 가정을 한번 해보자...
let us observe a situation...

한 사람이 거금을 들여 별다방에서 커피를 사마신다... 길거리 커피와 맛은 똑같지만 왜 더 비쌀까? 일단 분위기 있는 장소 제공 서비스이다... 마시고 난 자리 치워주는 서비스도 있다...
a customer went to a coffee shop to buy a cup of coffee... the taste is same as street coffee but why is it more expensive? first of all, they provide space, one form of service... they also provide clean up service...

근데 그런것들이 당연한 것일까? 당연하다고 생각하면 서비스를 제공하는 사람은 사람이 아닌 돈으로 산 상품 뿐이다...
but is it really for granted? if you think it is granted, then the people who provide the service is a product, paid in cash.

이게 노예나 다름없지 않은가? 단 다른 점은 돈을 지불했다는 것...
isn't that same as slavery? only difference is that you paid for it...

돈 냈다고 온갓 말도 않되는 진상을 부리는 사람들이여... 비싼 돈 냈다고 노예 부리듯 함부로 하는 것이 아니라 인격과 존경으로 대했으면 좋겠다... 돈으로 서비스를 산다는 생각을 버리고 조금 더 인격적인 사회를 만들어 나가고 싶은 맘이다... 미소가 오고 가면 서로 좋지 않을가? 아님 내가 너무 낙관적인가?
if you paid for it, dont treat them like a slave... but treat them with respect... dont think you are buying their service, instead let us make a more humane society... isn't it good to exchange few smiles? or am i too optimistic?
