일만 시키시는 하나님? Is God keeping you busy?

누가복음 10장에 나오는 마리아와 마르다 자매의 이야기는 나 자신에 대해 다시 생각하게 만든다...
The story of Martha and Mary sisters in Luke chapter 10 makes me think about myself once again...

그들의 이야기는 다음과 같다...
their story is as follows...

예수님의 자신들의 마을에 온다는 소식을 들은 마르다와 마리아 자매는 예수님을 만나뵙고 자신의 집을 초대한다...
when Martha and Mary sisters heard that Jesus is coming to their town, they invite them to their house...

여기서 예수님과 제자들까지 초대한 마르다와 마리아의 행동에 차이가 있다. 마르다는 손님들을 위해 음식을 준비하고 있고 동생 마리아는 예수님 곁에서 말씀을 듣고 있다...
But the sisters differ in how they act in presence of the Lord. Martha prepares food for the guests while Mary sits by Jesus to listen to his words...

그래서 마르다는 예수님께 불평을 한다...
so Martha complains to Jesus...

주여 내 동생이 나 혼자 일하게 두는 것을 생각하지 아니하시나이까 그를 명하사 나를 도와 주라 하소서 - 누가복음 10:40
Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me. - Luke 10:40 

그러자 예수님께서 답변하신다...
and Jesus replies...

마르다야 마르다야 네가 많은 일로 염려하고 근심하나 몇 가지만 하든지 혹은 한 가지만이라도 족하니라 마리아는 이 좋은 편을 택하였으니 빼앗기지 아니하리라 - 누가복음 10:41-42
Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her. - Luke 10:41-42

교회에서 많은 봉사를 하는 나에게는 매정하게 들리는 말씀이다... 서운하기까지 하다...
for me, who has many tasks at church, His words are cold... it is somewhat painful...

그럼 둘다 밥 준비 안하면 예수님은 그냥 굶은 것인가? 예수님 혼자뿐이 아니라 제자들도 같이 왔을 터인데... 그냥 다 쫄쫄이 굶어야 하는 것인가?
who is going to prepare the food then? will Jesus just starve? apostles are probably there as well... Will they just starve together?

그러나 여기서 깨닭아야 하는 것은 "하나님의 일"을 한다고 바쁘게 지내다가 진정 중요한 하나님을 모른다는 것이다...
but one thing to realize from this is that when you are busy doing "God's work", you forget about whats more important; God.

대기업에서 직원들이 일하면서 회장을 모르는 꼴이랄까? 어쩌다가 회장님을 알고 친하게되면 삶이 편해지듯 기독교인의 삶도 마찮가지 아닐까 생각해본다...
It's as if working under a big company and you dont know the CEO. if you get to know the CEO by chance and befriend him, your life will be easier. Maybe life of Christians are as such...

Savior, let me walk beside Thee,
주님, 주님과 같이 동행하게 하소서

주님의 손에 제 손을 잡아 주소서
